unlike a lot of people who are really into fragrances, i don't really think that fragrances with an "interesting" or bold scent are the best ones to go for. the fundamental purpose of wearing a fragrance is to smell good; i want my fragrance to make me pleasant to be around for other people, not something that will necessarily grab attention or make a statement. while i definitely have some fragrances that i would consider "interesting" or "niche" more so than easily wearable, i own those more to appreciate the craft and because i enjoy collecting fragrances and less to actually wear.
in the same vein, i don't think that the "performance" of a fragrance is always a useful metric to judge how good it is. i think it's better for a fragrance to be inoffensive than loud. i'd rather be around someone who smells like nothing than someone who smells bad. for fragrances with a polarizing scent, having more subtle projection is actually a pro in my opinion.
below are my thoughts on each of the fragrances in my collection, in chronological order of when i got them. you can click on the cards to get more detailed thoughts on each one. i listed the prices for the 100ml versions of everything for consistency; i own smaller bottles of many of them.
